                                                     Decisions and Closed Items

 

·         Combination of the 18+ and 28+ divisions was discussed.  It was decided not to combine divisions at this time.
 
·         The group agreed to align with MABL/MSBL National and adjust league age divisions to:  18+, 25+ and 35+

 

·         Raffle idea fundraiser was removed from consideration
 
·         Group agreed it will be the home team's responsibility to prepare the field...lines, drag, bases etc.
 
·         1/2 team fees will be due 2 weeks prior to the first game and the other half of team fees will be due prior to week 3 of games

 

 

                                                      Proposals and Discussions

 
·         Everyone supported an opening day of games.  Andrew proposed 100 innings of baseball to benefit a local charity or non-profit and to provide publicity for the league.  This is something to discuss in more detail later.
 
·         Discussed partnering with city parks and rec departments and local high schools to promote the league.
 
·         Proposed a 10 week schedule beginning June 8 and ending with a single elimination tournament with a best of 3 championship series the following weekend ending the last weekend in August.
 
·         Also proposed mixing in 1 nine inning game against each team as well as double headers between the 18 and 25+ leagues.

 

·         Next Meeting: Thursday, February 21st, 2008 at Jason’s Office (Country Financial, Salem).
