            Decisions and Closed Items  

• Game start dates & tournament:18+, 25+: Start June 1st, 10 Weekends, Tournament August 27^th & 24^th; 35+: Start June 11^th, 12 Weeks, Tournament September 3^rd & 10^th. 
• Advertising for league tryout/membership in the Statesman Journal:  Agreed to have Steve Nass purchase the same advertising package as last year for $1600.

• League Tryout: April 20th, 1pm at Chemeketa CC (tentative), $5 fee.

• Next meeting: Thursday, March 27^th, 6:30pm at Jason’s Office.  Each team captain needs to bring $100 earnest money to secure his team’s spot in the league and voting rights.

            Proposals and Discussions

• Discussed 24 hour or 100 inning game as a charity event.  Andrew and Jason agreed to research this further and provide a proposal to the league.
• There was support for mixing in scheduled single 9 inning games in place of doubleheaders in the 25+ division.
• It was suggested that the league purchase banners for placement at high school ball fields.  Brian Mills to check on prices for banners and placement.
• It was recommended that a reminder be sent out before the next meeting requesting confirmation of attendance.  A phone call will be made if no response. Jason agreed to handle this.
• Information from Brian Mills:

o    I have costs from the Mid Valley Umpires Association, and I am on the board so some items can be negotiated.  I will try and contact Salem this week and have a fee comparison for the next meeting. 

o    I will get costs from my wife on banners they would be 42" x 6' or 42"x8' in size or whatever we decide. 

o    I found out that the fundraiser would be against state law - the odds cannot be better than the state lottery.  

o    I have a field use agreement for McNary's field - I can send that to you or bring it to a future meeting.  The way it reads, that there is a $15 application fee and $10.00 per hour charge. 

o    I found that Corvallis HS (I know the Leigon Coach) would charge between $100-$150 per year to produce and hang a 4x8 sign on their fence - I suggest that we invest in that one, as it is the most used field in the area and we could begin advertising in the next few weeks there.
