Discussion
· 18+/25+ division merger. Additional concerns were raised regarding merger logistics. There will be wood and metal bat divisions.
· 28+ Twilight League. Brian Mills was approved as commissioner.
· Finances. The treasurer gave a financial overview. Given the number of Sundays between Memorial Day and Labor Day and July 4th being a Sunday, the number of games will be slightly reduced. The league fee for an 18+ team (wood or metal) will be $2500 for the 2010 season. The 38+ division team fee will be $2000. Dues for the 28+ division are TBD.
· Umpires. An e-mail from John Wittemore to Jason Heinz was reviewed. The message was in regards to ejections. He wanted to provide his opinion to the discussion.
· Memorial Day Tournament. Brian I. has organized a tournament for Memorial Day weekend. Games will be at Geer Park pending availability. The tournament will be limited to 10-12 teams.
· Advertising and Promotion. Steve will evaluate advertising options in addition to the Statesman Journal advertising. $1500/yr is budgeted. Any input is welcome.
· League Hats. Jason suggested that all teams in the league order hats together to get volume discounts. All hats could have wvmbl.com on the back. Great idea!
· Rules. Zero tolerance of alcohol at any game.
· Rosters. Should be delivered to the league in electronic form.
League Leadership
Leadership positions in the league need to be filled. There is a need for league members to step forward and contribute to the future (and present) success of the league. The following positions need nominees:
· President Elect: Learns league president duties in order to transition to league president next season.
· Field Commissioner: secures fields, acts a league contact for fields, handles liability forms, schedules fields
· 18+ League Commissioner: scheduling, rules/discipline, rosters, finances
· 38+ League Commissioner: scheduling, rules/discipline, rosters, finances
