Proposals
and Discussions
- Still unable to confirm Chemeketa for the league workout. Jason to
contact Corban College to see if it would be available as a backup location.
They have covered batting cages.
- Todd Edgar agreed to head up the workout. This includes
registering players, assigning numbers, collecting money, distributing
information to the managers, and coordinating activities.
- Brian Mills provided umpire cost information. Costs are similar.
It was proposed that the league use both the Salem and Corvallis
associations depending on game location to save money. Additional cost
information forthcoming.
- It was proposed that MSBL uniform standards be better enforced -- see
rules. Jason detailed how his team handles uniforms.
- Brian Mills proposed spending $200 for a league banner at Taylor Field
in Corvallis to advertise the league. Money is not available at this
time.
- Advertising and marketing was discussed. The first advertisement
for the league workout should appear in the Statesman Journal on or about
March 29th.
- Discussions about official league scorekeepers and the league pre-season
jamboree were tabled until the next meeting.
- No one was interested in taking on a league charity event (24hrs of
baseball).
