Rain-out Procedures
- Rain-outs will be determined based on field conditions. The
scheduled home team is responsible for checking on the field and with
the appropriate field owner.
- A decision needs to be made NO LATER THAN 2 HOURS before the
scheduled game time so that players and umpires can be notified.
- The scheduled home team needs to phone the visiting team manager
AND the umpire association with the rain-out decision -- again,
no later than two hours before game time.
Schedule Changes
- If a game date, time, or location change is made prior to
game day, call Jason
Heinz (503-269-6625) with the change.
- If a change needs to be made on game day, phone the
umpire association NO LATER THAN 2 HOURS prior to the original
scheduled game time.
Game Day
- The scheduled home team is responsible for preparing the field --
raking, lines, clean-up, etc.
- The scheduled home team will be the home team for both games of a
scheduled double-header.
- The scheduled home team will supply all baseballs (for both games if
scheduled).
Other Items
- Home teams scheduled for Geer Park should plan to pick-up the scoreboard
controller and chalker for Geer Park at Jason’s office (M-F: 8am-12pm,
1pm-5pm).
- Any teams interested in playing non-league games with a Portland
MSBL team should contact Steve Jackson at (503) 704-9228 – they want to
play!
- Game scores should be e-mailed to
